One of my great frustrations as a closet CD is not being able to shave my body, particularly my legs. At the same time I just love my gossamer sheer 10 denier tights. I am guessing that this is one of the perennial problems but does anyone have any tips or ideas on how to at least mask the hair if only a little?
I generally shave my legs, but when I haven't ,leggings or skinny jeans with a nice top do the trick . I very rarely shave my arms though, which is why most of my outfits start with a long sleeve tee shirt. XX Rhonda
As Rhonda says, if you can't shave, just wear long sleeved tops and wear darker or opaque stockings. Have a look at some of Rhonda's very glamorous photos, she's got the arm cover up technique totally nailed!
Although I can't shave my legs I do use a trimmer to make them shorter.
This works reasonably well, but I'm fairly lucky in that the hair on my lower legs are quite fine and don't show much. They start to show darker from knees up, though. This means that to feel cute I usually wear skirts down to my knees, which is nice, but in private I can wear shorter stuff and still feel nice without worrying about it. X
An older man in a skirt. In my head I look good, but then reality buts in . . . . . . .
Like Summer, I'm one of the lucky(?) ones in that I don't seem to produce huge amounts of body hair - just a few fine wispy bits on legs and arms and a fairly light facial stubble. I do have horrible, bulgy leg veins though but have found that some thicker tights flatten these while still looking half decent - I had some nice 40 denier tights which looked pretty good until I laddered them and they also had a body con panty section which was very useful back then. Black or 'nearly black' seem to work best with my problem and could help you with yours.
Long sleeves are definitely the answer for hairy arms - at the risk of making her big-headed, ( ), I'd also refer you to Rhonda's tops!

HaHaHa......Thanks Ladies, My head is so big right now I can`t get out the door!! But Seriously Sandy, My biggest issue as a CD is the body hair. I can pretty much shave most of my body and not have my friends notice. During the warm summer months I wear leggings and jeans so I can also wear man shorts and not shave the legs. During the colder weather I can shave and wear panty hose when I dress and wear long man jeans so no one notices. I also have issues with facial hair. Even immediately after a close shave I have a very noticeable beard line. A lot of foundation and blush takes care of that. Messy, but necessary. I am totally envious of the Ladies who have light hair and go sleeveless and wear low collars to show chest and the more fortunate ones, cleavage. Sorry if I`m rambling, had a few beers and am ready for some baseball......Go Royals!! xxxRhonda
Thank you everyone. Obviously no magic bullets but lots of useful tips which is really great. Now if only I could encourage my chest and leg hair onto my head.....
Otherwise, you've got to cover up, and I hate that in summer. Less of an issue in winter, when I'm normally in trousers, long sleeves, coats, hats, scarves and boots.
When I first did it, I still changed with the other members of my football team, and I went from being Wookie to smooth in the space of a week. We all think somebody would notice, but you know what? They didn't. Men are SO unobservant.
These days, men shaving body hair is no big deal. The popularity of cycling has helped somewhat. I went to have an ECG a while back and the nurse commented that it was fortunate I'd shaved my chest as removing the little sticky electrodes wouldn't hurt so much. Like I said, no big deal.
I'm using a home IPL to remove hand and arm hair and it works well. The beard is another day and another (lots) dollar.
